Cleanse guide

During a cleanse

Tips for getting the most out of the days of your juice cleanse.

Drink water, lots of it

Start every morning with a big glass of water, or with our Lemon+Aid. Caffeine-free herbal teas are fine all day.

Spread your juices out

Drink all six juices each day, about one every one to two hours, and finish your last one two to three hours before bed. Green juices can give you a boost of energy, so save the almond milk for the evening.

Sip slowly and "chew" your juice

It sounds odd, but swishing each sip around before you swallow gets your saliva and digestion going. Our bottles say it: shake me, chew me.

If you get hungry

Eating a little is fine. Keep it raw and clean: vegetable broth, carrot or celery sticks, a small salad with lemon (no oil), an apple, half an avocado or a small handful of raw nuts. We want you to be happy during your cleanse, not miserable.

Rest and move gently

Get plenty of sleep. If you exercise a lot, dial it back to walking, stretching or yoga for a few days. Dry brushing, a sauna, massage and deep breathing all feel great during a cleanse.

How you may feel

The first day is usually the hardest. By day two or three many people notice more steady energy, clearer focus and better sleep. Listen to your body: if you feel unwell, eat something, and stop if you need to.

Next: after a cleanse.

A juice cleanse is not medical treatment. If you are pregnant or nursing, take prescription medication, or are managing a health condition, talk with your doctor before you start. Our juices are raw and unpasteurized. See our disclaimer.
