Cleanse guide

Why cleanse?

What a juice cleanse is, why people do one, and how our cleanses are made.

What is a juice cleanse?

A juice cleanse means drinking only raw, fresh vegetable and fruit juice for a few days. You are still taking in vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and a little protein and fat, just in a form your body does not have to work hard to digest. Most people cleanse for one to five days.

Why do we like to cleanse?

Everyone is due a rest. Not just the nap kind or the vacation kind, but a break from processed food, heavy meals and overeating. We spend a lot of energy digesting solid food, and a few days of juice gives your system a breather.

It is not only what you put in during a cleanse, it is what you leave out. For a few days you trade processed food, alcohol and added sugar for pounds of raw, organic produce.

How our cleanses are made

Our juices are pressed in our Fort Worth kitchen on a cold press that does not heat the produce. Each 16 oz bottle holds a lot of organic produce, and we never pasteurize or pressure-treat it, so it is as fresh as juice gets. That also means a short shelf life: keep it cold and drink it within a few days.

Signs you might want a reset

People often come to us after a stretch of travel, holidays or stress, or when they are feeling sluggish, bloated or run down and want a clean start. A cleanse is also a good way to build better habits: many people finish one and keep a daily juice in their routine.

A juice cleanse is not medical treatment. If you are pregnant or nursing, take prescription medication, or are managing a health condition, talk with your doctor before you start. Our juices are raw and unpasteurized. See our disclaimer.
