Cleanse guide

Preparing for a cleanse

How to get ready for a juice cleanse so the days go smoothly.

Get the big weekend out of the way first. Then give yourself three to five days to ease into your cleanse. You will thank yourself later: preparing well is the single biggest thing that makes a cleanse feel easier.

What to cut back on

Some foods make the days of a cleanse harder, so taper off slowly instead of stopping everything at once:

  • Alcohol, caffeine and nicotine
  • Added sugar and artificial sweeteners
  • Dairy and wheat
  • Fried food, trans fats and processed food
  • Meat and other animal products

What to eat instead

Plenty. Add more raw fruits and vegetables, broth-based soups and smoothies. Our salads and soups and smoothies are a good bridge. Drink lots of water.

Medication

Do not stop taking prescription medication for a cleanse. If you take prescription medication, talk with your doctor before you start.

Now let's begin. You can do this. Next: during a cleanse.

A juice cleanse is not medical treatment. If you are pregnant or nursing, take prescription medication, or are managing a health condition, talk with your doctor before you start. Our juices are raw and unpasteurized. See our disclaimer.
