the love of almonds
at juice junkies we love almonds every month, but february is a special celebration of all the goodness these wonderful nuts have to offer!
just a handful is all you need!
a handful of almonds is a good source of fiber (13% DV) and an excellent source of riboflavin (25% DV), magnesium (20% DV) and vitamin E (50% DV).
each of these nutrients play an important role in good health:
- vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage, helps boost the body's immune system and helps to widen blood vessels and keep blood from clotting.
- magnesium helps regulate muscle and nerve function, blood sugar levels and blood pressure.
- riboflavin is a B vitamin that helps convert food into fuel. It's important for cellular function, growth and development.
interesting news for ladies!
this is very interesting ladies! “a 2015 study looked at nut consumption and cancer risk. the authors identified a two to three times lower risk of breast cancer among individuals who consumed higher quantities of peanuts, walnuts, and almonds, compared with those who did not. they concluded that "peanuts, walnuts, and almonds appear to be a protective factor for the development of breast cancer." medical news today
